Identity Development in Digital Contexts

A growing focus in the lab is understanding how identity shapes media use, and how media use in turn shapes identity development over time, particularly during emerging adulthood. In recent work, we study how prescribed media activities — like using social media or AI in specific ways — can be leveraged in field interventions to promote adaptive identity exploration and commitment processes.
